Visitors turned out in force for a new Lancashire Day event held at the Park Hall Hotel complex at Charnock Richard.

The event, in aid of the Rainbow Legacy House charity which prodvides conductive education for children with severe disabilities, attracted more than 30 stalls selling local crafts, gifts and local produce.

There was entertainment by The Leyland Morris Dancers, the Mawdesley Ukele Group and show girl Bexi Owen. There was also a chocolate demonstration by Paul Williams of Choc Amor.

The event, supported by Lancashire Life, was opened by Joanne Mawdsley, who founded the charity, and Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Colonel Alan Jolley. Radio Lancashire broadcasted from the event all day. Organiser Tricia Hounslow said: ‘ The whole day was a great success and plans will be in place soon to organise the next one.’
