Around 280 generous locals staged a barn dance at Rivington Hall Barn and raised a magnificent £6,000 for the British Heart Foundation and Health and the Goals Cardiac Campaign, which is supported by former footballer Fabric Muamba.

The inspiration behind the event was Janet Baker, whose first husband died at the age of 37 from a heart attack 20 years ago. Janet, her three children Jonathan, Nicki and Joanna and her husband Philip, decided to mark the anniversary with a charity evening. The money was raised with a charity auction and raffle together with a generous donation from Rivington Hall Barn.
