BBC Radio Manchester presenter Chelsea Norris was the host of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital charity’s annual lunch, Sparkle in the City, at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.

Chelsea welcomed over 240 guests to the occasion.

They were treated to goody bags, entertainment from Girl on Sax, May Crick, and music from swing singer Cole Page and legendary Manchester DJ Clint Boon.

As well as a stylish fashion show from Selfridges, guests enjoyed the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping from boutique festive stalls.

Long-standing charity patron and Coronation Street star, Antony Cotton, surprised guests when he arrived to announce the extravagant prizes featured in the auction. These included a Bali luxury villa holiday and both Manchester City and Manchester United signed Christmas baubles and hospitality packages.

The glamorous event raised an incredible £50,000 which will go towards buying magnetic resonance imaging scanning equipment. This will revolutionise neurological surgical care at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
