Guests were treated to a delicious three course meal and were entertained by singer Billy Arnold along with a humorous talk by Cliff Bashforth from ‘Colour Me Beautiful’.
Inspirational Samara Barnes has been named Rossendale Hospice Woman of the Year 2019 at a prestigious award ceremony.
She set up the local arm of the Red Box Project, a national charity aimed at supporting young women, regardless of social and economic background.
Her initial plan was to support three local schools but within 12 months the project included six secondary schools, 29 primary schools, two colleges in Rossendale and two youth groups.
She was named at the Woman of the Year at an awards luncheon at Rossendale Golf Club where £3,500 was raised for Rossendale Hospice.
