The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity held a Christmas lunch, Sparkle in the City, at The Midland Hotel in the city centre.

Heart Breakfast presenter Lorna Bancroft hosted the event which raised an incredible £30,126, smashing the charity’s target. Over 200 guests browsed boutique stalls before enjoying lunch and entertainment from singer Kimm and tenor Thomas Spencer. A fashion show from Nadine Merabi followed, showcasing her latest collection.

Sue Lunt, hospital director for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to every person who attend Sparkle in the City, donated prizes, or helped in any way. The support has meant that we are one step closer to building a 24 hour access helipad on the hospital site which means we are one step closer to helping to save many more lives.’
