Sandbach Transport Festival brought the town alive when the big trucks rolled in on a weekend in April. It provided fun and interest for all ages, not just motor enthusiasts.

The event has grown over 20 years from being a fairly staid celebration of the town’s commercial vehicle heritage to a fabulous event for the whole family. Both ERF and Foden lorries were built locally.

This year the event was dedicated to the memory of Peter Foden, former chairman and MD of ERF and Derek Jennings who was MD of Jennings Coachworks. Both men passed away last year.

The parade involved a huge variety of styles and ages of cars, motors, trucks and lorries. The first ever ERF vehicle built in Sandbach was on display as well as a very modern electric car from Sandbach Girls’ High School.
