Sherborne Independent Market, which has its first outing on Sunday 16 June, aims to provide the first curated “destination” market for the town

It will feature an eclectic mix of artisan stalls running down Cheap Street, a profusion of Sherborne "Indies" in Digby Road, and a packaging-free Eco Pop Up supermarket in Digby Hall in Hound Street.

Of particular interest for small micro or start-up traders will be the offer of stalls for just £5 giving an opportunity for these businesses to showcase their products such as homemade jams, pickles and chutneys; vegetables fresh from the allotment; home baked goodies; hand-crafted jewellery and textiles; vintage clothing; wood-turned bowls and pottery.

The new venture is run by a group formed from members of the Chamber of Trade and Sherborne Indies with funding from The Sherborne Chamber of Trade and The Paddock Project. If the new market is a success there are plans to roll it out once a month from March through to October 2020. For more information or to apply for a stall email Julesbradburn@gmail.com
