Those who have yet to book their summer holiday need look no further for their tropical sun, as The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury brings the Andalucían heat to the town in the form of virtuoso guitarist Juan Martín and his ensemble of musicians and flamenco dance, on Thursday March 13

The Juan Martín Flamenco Dance is a captivating and exhilarating night of authentic flamenco music and dance, led by the world renowned Juan Martín and accompanied by award winning singer Amparo Heredia, dancer Miguel Infante, and the flamenco talent of Raquel de Luna. Juan’s technique and the dexterity with which he plays have been described as mesmerising, and the juxtaposition of sultry sensuality and fiery intensity makes this show an intoxicating evening of flamenco as authentic as any found in its native home of Andalucía.

Voted as one of the top three guitarists in the world, Martín has toured to all corners of the globe from Beijing to Vancouver, Sydney, and back to Morón de la Frontera in Spain, and has also performed for Picasso’s 90th Birthday celebrations and played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His original method book, El Arte Flamenco De La Guitarra, is in its eighth print and is now considered to be the Bible of flamenco guitar method.

Martin’s ensemble is at the vanguard of modern flamenco, with a unique style of music that succeeds in embracing classical, jazz and modern harmonies while upholding the great flamenco tradition.
