Alan Shearer, Jessica Ennis-Hill, AP McCoy and Jimmy Anderson were among the sporting guests who teed off at Hallamshire Golf Club to help TV’s Dan Walker raise thousands for The Children’s Hospital Charity, Sheffield.
Dan, presenter of Football Focus and Radio 5 Live is one of the charity’s patrons along with Jessica Ennis-Hill, who tried her hand on the putting green.
‘I wanted it to be bigger and better than last year, and we did it,’ said Dan. ‘So many celebrities said they want to come back next year because it is a really friendly and relaxed event at a great course.’
The event raised over £30,000 to help bring the UK’s first 3T MRI scanner to Sheffield Children’s Hospital which will mean improved treatment for children with brain tumours.
