The annual Barton Ball was held at the Barton Grange Hotel, near Preston, hosted by St Lawrence CE Primary School.

One of the main fundraisers of the year for the school, the event raised a record £3,765 and will go toward school funds. Attended by 120 people, guests enjoyed a drinks reception before an evening meal.

Julie Goodwin, headteacher, said: ‘We are very fortunate to have the support of the local community at these events, with friends and neighbours of the school attending and local businesses sponsoring tables or donating raffle and auction prizes. The St Lawrence PTFA put a huge amount of work into events such as this and their dedication, support and commitment never fails to amaze me.’
