Burnley based project, T.E.A.M R.I.S.E. to benefit from event

Bets were placed and champagne toasted at a recent Ascot Ladies’ Day event held at St Mary’s Chambers in Rawtenstall, to raise funds for Burnley based project, T.E.A.M R.I.S.E.

The project gives disabled and disadvantaged individuals the opportunity to develop, socialise and explore their ideas and goals through a wide variety of educational, social and practical activities.

Presenter, radio broadcaster and comedian Ted Robbins opened the event, and chose the best dressed lady out of the 62 guests in attendance. After a three course lunch and afternoon tea, guests were entertainment by Josh Hindle and the racing event was compared by Jason Duckworth of HR Entertainment.

Organiser Sharon Lees said: ‘The £6,000 we raised will help us to fund a full year of day trips which we carry out every Friday, and visit many places of interest, including museums, events and many more fabulous locations.’
