Park Proms at Broadlands Estate in Romsey promises to be the event of the summer
We are very excited to announce that Hampshire Life will be the official magazine for what is set to be the event of the summer. Park Proms will be a fantastic two-night concert spectacle set within the beautiful Broadlands Estate in Romsey on August 27 and 28, 2021.
The headline act on Friday, August 27, will be the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, accompanied by special guests, soloists Aled Jones and Laura Wright. The headline act for the second night, on Saturday, August 28, will be announced in the new year, with organisers keeping us on tenter-hooks. The only clue is that the second night is a pop act.
The 78-piece orchestra will play a 'Last Night' of the Proms-style concert with a number of pieces from some of the greatest films ever made, including Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Wars and Superman, in the most spectacular of settings. Park Proms organisers have also announced that a “world-class air display” will open the concert.
Event director Michael Hlavaty, says: “This will not only be a fantastic event for all who attend, but finally something for everyone to mark in their calendars and have something to look forward to after such a difficult year. This event will also hugely benefit the local area, thanks to our partnership with Hampshire Fare, and we are challenging to be one of the most environmentally conscious events in the UK.”
Richard Jordan-Baker, the director at Broadlands responsible for events said: “For Park Proms to announce an event with such a high-profile orchestra is very exciting. It will be a massive spectacle for the local residents of Romsey, Hampshire and further afield.
“We are delighted to have been selected as the host venue for this event. With the air display and the other announcements that are coming, this event will be the must-attend event of 2021.
“Broadlands has a history of hosting high profile concerts and Park Proms is a real coup for everyone involved at the estate.”
Support from companies across the south and further afield has been enormous, with a number of high-profile partners to be announced shortly. The south’s biggest commercial radio station, Wave105, has already been announced as the official radio station of the event, with Hampshire Life as the official magazine, and Hampshire Fare as the Park Proms’ official food and drink partner
