Set in the beautiful rural environs of the gently sloping Loxwood Meadow, with the screen set on a natural incline, this event has recently added extra dates due to popular demand. The new dates will include a special guest performance before Bohemian Rhapsody from Tim Staffell, the original Queen singer played by Jack Roth in the film. Tim will be performing a song from the film and doing a live Q & A. You can also catch a Grease Sing-A-Long, Mamma Mia, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future and The Goonies, among others. Food is freshly prepared to order on-site and delivered to your car.

From the reigning heroes of interactive cinema experiences comes this drive-in extravaganza. The immersive experience includes interactive pre-­screening performances, American diner­-style food and luxury ice cream delivered to your car. As this is the spiritual home of British motorsport, there is a distinct whiff of petrol in the programming, from Rush, a film centred on the rivalry between Formula One drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda to Disney’s Cars and Le Mans ’66. Other movies include Dirty Dancing, JoJo Rabbit and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Big Sky Cinema Drive-in, Seaford

Two local filmmakers have teamed up with local food and drink producers to offer an exciting experience in Seaford. As well as classics such as Jaws and Quadrophenia, they will be showing more recent films such as family favourite Moana and Elton John biopic Rocketman. A Sussex-made stop frame animation, Strike, will also be on the line-up. Food will come from producers including Lewes-based Cheese Please and Seaford’s Crepes de la Crème.

Suzuki presents @TheDriveIn will tour British cities this summer with a programme of comedy, interactive games and blockbusters. The summer line-up features an accomplished list of performers such as Lou Sanders, Ahir Shah, Alex Farrow, Chelsea Birkby and more. Family films such as Toy Story will play alongside more recent hits such as Joker, starring Joaquim Phoenix, and Lady Gaga’s A Star is Born. American-inspired food will come TGI Friday’s and Ben & Jerry’s and will be delivered to punters’ cars.

Movies and Music Weekend, from Chichester Festival Theatre and Chichester Cinema at New Park

28-30 August

Movie-goers can catch screen classics such as Singin’ in the Rain and Some Like It Hot, as well as popular hits Grease, The Greatest Showman and The Rocky Horror Picture Show - and Pixar’s latest, Onward. Screenings will take place at the Drive-In Cinema in Northgate car park and traditional drive-in style food and drink will be available to pre-order for delivery to your car.
