The State Ballet Academy of Belarus has returned to the UK with a new and vibrant Classical Ballet, The Nutcracker – a family orientated production with an emphasis on the fairy tale quality of the story.

Amande Concerts is presenting the popular ballet to twenty-four venues across the UK, with the tour beginning on Monday, October 28 and finishing in the run-up to Christmas, on Saturday, November 23.

Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet has for generations enchanted audiences with its spectacular performance of music and dance. It’s based on the story ‘The Nutcracker and the King of Mice’ by E.T.A. Hoffman, which follows the adventures of a young girl, Marie. Marie, who is given a Nutcracker doll for Christmas, enters a dreamlike land of magic where she discovers her Nutcracker prince.

The State Ballet Academy of Belarus was established in 1928 and has performed on famous stages around the world, including Russia, Paris, London and New York.

The ballet is being brought to life by forty five young artists, and the score will include many favourites such as ‘The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’, providing entertainment for families and ballet enthusiasts alike in the months leading up to Christmas.

The ballet will be performed at local venues including The Roses Theatre, Tewkesbury on November 6, The Courtyard, Hereford on November 10 and Royal Spa Centre, Leamington Spa on November 20, as well as other parts of the UK.
