That's my business! - Alexandra Worsley Health and Wellbeing
Alexandra Worsley, managing director and founder of Alexandra Worsley Health and Wellbeing in Bramhall, shares the secrets of her success.
What we do:We offer the ultimate in complementary healthcare. We have a shop selling natural and organic supplements, herbs, homeopathy, Dr Hauschka, Weleda, REN Skincare and more. We have a select range of beautiful gifts including crystals, jewellery and candles and also the famous Fitflop. Upstairs we have four beautifully decorated treatment rooms with a team of 15 highly qualified therapists who offer a wide range of treatments in complementary healthcare including cutrition, reiki, aromatherapy massage, Thai massage, acupuncture, homeopathy, hypnotherapy, reflexology, hopi ear candles, cranial osteopathy for children and babies, osteopathy and more to name just a few. We also have a qualified Dr Hauschka aesthetician.
Who we do it for:We offer our service, informed advice and treatments for everyone, from pregnant women and new mums with young babies to those of us entering the golden years. Whatever you need through times of illness, recovery or simply to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle, we are here to help and support you.
What makes us special:I have worked hard to research and find the best products and therapists available in this rapidly growing industry. I won't sell a brand or promote a practitioner we haven't tried. The shop team are here to help you choose the right treatment and products that are best suited to your needs. We also offer taster treatments so you can try it and meet the therapists and find what works for you more easily.
How we got started:I am passionate about complementary health and wanted to share my knowledge with others. With a background in chemistry I was once sceptical of this industry. My intrigue led me to where we are today and I aim to help those who perhaps like me are unsure of why to use complementary medicine or what to choose.
Business person I most admire:I am inspired by a lot of women in business and really admire those who get the balance right between working hard, making the dream happen and keeping a balanced social life.
My right hand man/woman is:I would say the whole team working on the shop floor support me incredibly, they each have their individual responsibilities, we share the day to day running and we wouldn't be so successful without all their support and hard work. It's a team effort. If I take a break then Dani Brotherton holds the fort. She is full of knowledge and energy and an inspiration to me too.

Secret of our success:A friendly smile is always here when you walk through our door.
My business philosophy/top tip:Buy to your sales, keep active and knowledgeable in your industry and pack it all in the moment you stop enjoying it and the passion is no longer there.
When I'm not working I like to: Visit family and friends, socialise over nice food and a good glass of wine. Go for weekends in the Lake District, horse riding and I have recently taken an interest in singing lessons.
My next move: Strengthening the brand and the getting the foundations right to expand into e-commerce for example. Once the roots are in place who knows where we will go.
