The heat was turned up at Holker Hall when they staged their first Chilli Festival.
More than 4,500 people visited the hall during the two-day event to sample all manner of chillies and chilli products.
The festival also featured salsa dancing, cookery demonstrations and a chilli eating competition. Organiser Gillian Rouse said: ‘I don’t know how they managed to eat such hot chillies but everyone seemed to enjoy it. The festival was very successful and we’re looking forward to staging another one next September.’
