Community spirit thrived among Marbury villagers and friends who were determinded to make merry on the weekend of their fete...whatever the weather.
There were spells of sunshine but there was the odd downpour too when the village, on the border with Shropshire, staged its jamboree on field around the parish church of St. Michael and All Angels.
This was the 34th year of fundraising in this fashion for the church and as well as dramatic spectacles like a battle enactment there were traditional old English village fair activities too.
