DJ Chris Evans’ CarFest North raised over £100,000 for Children in Need
The tragic death of stunt pilot Kevin Whyman shocked crowds of spectators at CarFest North, as well as the general public when it was broadcast across the media.
Warrington-born DJ and TV presenter Chris Evans, who organises the popular motor event, was horrified but after discussions with the emergency services, the weekend event continued after tributes were paid to Mr Whyman and condolences expressed to his family.
Car Fest, now in its fourth year at Oulton Park, raised more than £100,000 for BBC’s Children In Need. The three day festival was a treat for petrolheads as there was plenty of excitement on the track from sports, vintage and rally cars. Music and food were also celebrated with performances from Will Young and Primal Scream.w
