Event raises £64,000 for the Warrington hospice
An evening of shimmying and sparkle lit up the James Braid Suite at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Knutsford, as 400 guests watched the annual Strictly St. Rocco’s contest. Ten amateur dancers took to the floor accompanied by professional partners from Cadmans Dance School in Sale to raise £64,000 for the Warrington hospice.
There was a high standard across all the volunteer dancers but it was Chris Downey, general manager at Catherine Street Motors, and his professional partner, Holly Hewitt, who secured four tens for their exhilarating charleston.
Fundraising manager, Lauren Tilston, said: ‘We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us in whatever way for this year’s event. The dancers must be congratulated for their commitment and dedication, not only to learning to dance, but also for the fantastic amount they have raised through their sponsorship efforts.’
