STARTING YOUR ADVENTURE
Breakfast on the hotel’s beautiful Dalloway Terrace is a great start to the day.
It’s then a three-minute walk to The British Museum, (too big to take it all in on one visit, it’s best to explore one gallery at a time), the Clock & Watch Gallery is a must-see - dark, mysterious and filled with interesting objects.
Our next stop is nearby Museum Street to Syrup of Soot for a sumptuous red velvet cake and excellent coffee, before visiting the wonderful world of the Pollocks Toy Museum in nearby Fitzrovia.
THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY
London is a walking city, and a leisurely stroll to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery is all the better on a spring day.
This gallery is chock-full of history’s greatest artworks, one of the most popular paintings being Andrea del Verrocchio’s painting of Tobias and the Angel.
Return to the hotel by way of Covent Garden and its colourful shopping piazza, before freshening up to head out for a pre-theatre bite to eat.
DAY INTO EVENING
J Sheekey’s Restaurant in the West End is renowned for both celebrity spotting and great British seafood - their freshly shucked oysters and fish goujons are not to be missed.
With London’s theatreland on our doorstep, there’s plenty of entertainment to enjoy afterwards, (make sure to pre-book a show ahead of time with the Concierge).
And to wind down afterwards, there’s nothing better than a nightcap in The Bloomsbury’s stunning Coral Room – now it’s just a matter of choosing between a glass of English sparkling wine or the Bloomsbury Set’s favourite, a French red.
