A magical black tie ball raised thousands for a Cheadle-based charity

Cheadle-based charity The Together Trust hosted a black tie event at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, Knutsford, raising thousands for vulnerable and disabled children and young people.

The Cheshire Ball: Together in Narnia, was themed around children’s literature, something the organisation is hoping to repeat at future events.

The occasion, sponsored by Bollington Insurance, was hosted by BBC Radio Manchester presenter Chelsea Norris and opened with the president of the Together Trust, Brian Chesworth OBE, giving a moving speech about the charity’s work. Around 190 guests, including the Mayor of Stockport, Linda Holt, and Mary Robinson, MP for Cheadle, were entertained by a six-piece Manchester band, Downtown Underground, and a Lion, Witch and Wardrobe themed auction raised over £12,000 profit.

Julie Williams, fundraiser and organiser, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted. The event was more successful than I ever imagined and I would like to thank everyone who sponsored, donated, volunteered or attended – we couldn’t have done this without you.’ w
