Supporters of The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust raised £17,000 at their 13th Annual Golf Day held at The Mere, Knutsford.

CAFT President, Sir Bobby Charlton was joined by Manchester United legend Clayton Blackmore for the occasion on a blustery day.

The teams kept smiling through the wind and rain helped by refreshments and shelter from CAFT staff and volunteers. Banc Media Ltd, Next and Stirling Lloyd provided sponsorship for the event, helping to make it a huge success.

A prizegiving dinner followed, with comedian Andrew Ryan as host for the evening. Charles Warnes from COD Electrical was happy to lend a hand during the raffle.

The grand finale was the prize-giving which saw PST Legal IT’s team, The Military Golf Choir, scoop first prize, each team member walking away with a luxury hamper sponsored by Ettinger. Second place went to John Kinney and team, and Just Costs Solicitors came a close third.

Events organiser at CAFT, Pippa Watton said: ‘We were a little, if not a lot, worried that the terrible weather would spoil the event for our golfers, but there was no way they were going to let a bit of rain stop them from enjoying the day. They were generous not only in spirit but also financially as they helped us to raise vital funds for our charity. The money will help us to provide life-changing holidays for countless terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children this year.’
