Community spirit is alive and well in the Pendle village of Fence and to prove it more than 140 local people staged a ball. They gathered at the Fence Gate Inn to support Fence United, a group that organises events designed to bring together people from all walks of life.
It was the fourth year they had staged the ball. During dinner, guests were entertained by singer Steve James who also performed a later set for dancing. Music by DJ Loz completed the entertainment and master of ceremonies Howard Hartley ran a raffle of prizes donated by local businesses.
