The glamorous theme of Moulin Rouge was selected for the fourth annual Pendleside Hospice ball. Held at the Fence Gate Inn, 170 guests enjoyed a French meal staged in ‘boudoir’ style surroundings. Entertainment was provided by BBC1’s The Voice finalist, Kiki D Ville, and the Sanderson Dance Troop from Nelson.

The evening, sponsored by Ribblesdale Park, raised £6,110 through raffles and auction prizes, which included being a zookeeper for the day.Organiser Elaine Waine said: ‘I was diagnosed with three breast cancer in 2008 and I visited Pendleside as an outpatient for acupuncture. I fell in love with this wonderful place and the lovely people and I now fundraise for them.’
