The Highwayman in Burrow hosted an annual charity evening complete with gourmet food in aid of St John’s Hospice, Lancaster. Attended by 40 diners, guests enjoyed a champagne and canapé reception followed by a three course dinner prepared by head chef Jason Birkbeck. Almost £1,200 was raised for the hospice with the help of a raffle and silent auction, which included a prize of a gourmet break to the Michelin star Northcote.

Joanne Humphrey, community fundraiser at St. John’s Hospice, said: ‘The food has been outstanding and the support from everyone taking part in the raffle and auction was lovely.’
