The Prince’s Trust and Lexus Leeds 40th Anniversary Fashion Dinner raised more than £100,000 for one of the UK’s leading youth charities and its work supporting disadvantaged young people.

Guests heard about the difference the Trust makes from Dominic Loftus, 17, a Young Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust who described how he managed to turn his life around with the charity’s support.

The sold-out event, hosted by television presenter and journalist Sally Nugent, took place at Bowcliffe Hall near Wetherby, West Yorkshire, and is one of the region’s largest fundraisers for the Trust, with more than £400,000 donated since it began seven years ago. All funds go towards supporting unemployed young people giving them the skills and confidence they need to move into work, education or training.

The anniversary dinner, supported by Lexus Leeds and Vantage Motor Group, gave guests the chance to view an exclusive collection from leading fashion designer Amanda Wakeley and an opportunity to bid for a private shopping experience in the designer’s Mayfair boutique. Jewellers, Ogden of Harrogate, also donated an exclusive £6,000 Yorkshire Rose 31-diamond pendant to the evening’s Diamond Draw. Guests were also treated to a champagne reception and an auction of luxury goods and experiences including VIP tickets to the X Factor Live Final, a luxury holiday to the Four Seasons Resort in Mauritius and a tour of BBC TV’s Breakfast with host Sally Nugent. The fashion show direction and models were by Bernadette Gledhill and Morton Gledhill -The Fashion Team, Huddersfield. Hair and make up by Baroque, Harrogate and Ripon.

Each year the Trust supports about 4,000 young people across Yorkshire and the Humber, with three in four of those young people moving into work, education or training, building their self-esteem and ending disadvantage and poverty
