The day Ryan Giggs came for tea.

The Rotary Club of Eccles organised a tea party at George’s Dining Room and Bar, Worsley, in aid of the Purple4Polio campaign.

The campaign was launched last year by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland, with the aim of raising money to rid the world of polio.

The tea party, which was attended by 50 diners including Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs, raised over £500, a figure which will be tripled by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
