Guests dressed to impress in black tie and full sparkle at a charity ball held at Hallmark Hotel in Leyland.

The Sparkle Ball was organised by Lesley Lewis to raise money for St John’s Hospice, where her father passed away in 2009.

Singer Bethany McCrystal entertained guests throughout the meal followed by Sarah Bayliss for the rest of the evening. Over £3,480 was raised for the hopsice in Lancaster, bringing the total raised over the past few years to £6,932.31.

A further £450 was also donated to CancerHelp Vine House in Preston, where Lesley uses their facilites to run her business, Little Miss Wigs, an NHS and private wig supply, fitting and customising service.

Lesley Lewis said: ‘My dad was in St John’s care in from November 2008 until he passed away January 2009. A friend of mine gave me a card with a quote: “Memories are like diamonds, they sparkle and shine forever”, hence creating my Sparkle Ball.’ w
