It was an enjoyable and moving occasion as The Steve Burne Charitable Trust held a launch event at The Marquee Room at Bowdon Rugby Club.

Brave Steve Burne, from Timperley, raised lots of money for charities before he passed away in October, aged 48. His Trust supports Ronald McDonald House that offers accommodation for families who need to stay near hospitals while their children are being treated. It also supports The Christie Hospital, one of Europe’s leading cancer facilities. The lunch adopted a theme of ‘life is beautiful’. Guests enjoyed a meal followed by a performance from beat box band Duke, and Clint Boon who mixed tunes for the entertainment. It raised £13,500 which will go towards supporting both charities in their important work.
