Hope, community and love were abound at the launch of The Tide, a song produced as part of Bunbury resident Peter McCleave’s incredible 10,000 Donors campaign to improve the odds of finding a match for everyone in need of a stem cell donor.

The Ironman triathlete was struck with pneumonia, sepsis and Legionnaires' disease just two days after finishing a race in 2016, and four months later was diagnosed with myeloma and given seven years to live. He remains on the lookout for a match but has since encouraged nearly 36,000 new donors to sign up and found 12 confirmed matches. The special event at St. Boniface Church, Bunbury, was buzzing with positivity with more than 200 people raising £750 for the charity. Local musician Lee Gordon, who created the song inspired by the campaign, did a special live performance. Visit 10000donors.com to register, help or to learn more.
