So you have decided to get hitched. Congratulations! Now the fun of choosing all the elements for your special day can begin. One of the biggest decisions for any engaged couple is where you and your guests will celebrate one of the most important days of your life. Fortunately, there is a new beautiful and unique venue on the map for anyone looking to tie the knot in the East Midlands.

The Westgate Suites in Long Eaton, Derbyshire is an exclusive use wedding venue housed in a former Victorian mill building. Once dedicated to the production of fine textiles, the industrial space has recently undergone a major renovation project. The result? Well just take a look at the photographs! A stunning, quirky yet elegant interior is the first thing that will spark the interest of any style savvy Bride to be.

The venue is made up of two impressive rooms which provide you with the complete flexibility to design the flow of your day. The Westgate, the larger of the two, is an impressive space flanked on either side by a line of beautiful cast iron windows. High ceilings, bespoke lighting, reclaimed wood walls and a classic leather clad bar complete the look to create a room with real atmosphere and nostalgia. By day The Westgate can comfortably seat anything from 50 to 200+ guests for a traditional wedding breakfast. The space can then be quickly transformed into a grand evening reception venue complete with classic black & white dance floor, stage area and ample seating.

The Clifford Suite is a smaller, more intimate space with decor that references the industrial history of the building. Newlyweds have previously used Clifford for their drinks reception during the day, as a quiet space with food for guests joining them during their evening reception and even as a home for the obligatory photo booth!

Add a beautifully styled Bridal dressing room to the lineup and the venue search is surely over? The Westgate Suites is more than just a pretty face though, exceptional service and restaurant quality food can be the icing on the proverbial wedding cake. Luckily, owners Graeme and Rachel Fulton are more than aware of what it takes to pull off an exceptional dining experience also.

Alongside The Westgate Suites, they also own The Bowling Green Inn in Ashbourne (a traditional country pub and restaurant with a fantastic reputation amongst locals and visiting tourists for superb food) and more recently, The Butchers Bar and Steakhouse which is located on the ground floor of the Westgate Suites mill building.

In the two years The Butchers has been open, this hidden gem of a restaurant has gained a real foodie following. Diners rave about the wide selection of dishes on offer, the signature steakhouse flavour that comes with cooking over hot coals and the focus on quality local produce. Pair that with exceptional customer service and it’s no surprise that The Butchers is one of only three venues to be confirmed as finalists for the Best Out of Town category in this year’s Nottinghamshire Food and Drink Awards. The good news for couples considering The Westgate Suites as a potential venue is that all the food they serve to wedding guests is designed and crafted by The Butchers Head Chef Danny Holloway and his experienced team. From canapés on arrival to a five course wedding breakfast and the all-important evening reception buffet, Danny will be on hand to help design your perfect food package.
