With one of the largest food and drink festivals in the north fast approaching, we advise on how to make the most out of the Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival April 4-6th

Cooking for kids Hosted by The Academy of Culinary Arts, the Chester Food Festival will be running 3 cooking for kids’ workshops, each holding up to 40 children at around 40 minutes each. The sessions aim to immerse kids into a world of taste and flavour by encouraging them to experiment with food whilst being hands on in the kitchen.

Try some of the locally produced street foods Over 100 exhibitors will be present; showing off the local produce including a vast number of exhibitors cooking fresh food with everything from cupcakes to Caribbean jerk chicken, burgers to Belgian beer, there certainly is something for everyone.

Cooking demos by chefs Celebrity chefs will be taking part in a multitude of live cooking demonstrations and master classes throughout the festival, including appearances from Jean-Christophe Novelli, Masterchef judge Greg Wallace and Sunday Brunch star chef Simon Rimmer.

Try the locally brewed drinks A selection of local brewery’s, distilleries and vineyards will be present offering everything from wine, to beer and liquors, all locally produced to Chester including the Gwatkin Cider Company, Warner Edwards Distillery and the Hafod Brewing Company all with a vast selection of refreshments to sample.

Chester Sausage Competition Butchers from across Cheshire and North Wales go head to head to compete for the honorary title of Best plain sausage and Best flavored sausage. Sunday 5th April 11am
