The ThunderCat racing season progresses to Watergate Bay, the spiritual home of UK surfboarding on the 24th - 25th September 2016. Watergate Bay provides one of the most extreme racing conditions for the competitors as well as providing an amazing spectacle for spectators.

The weekend will see approximately 20 teams’ compete in six heats, with the top 12 teams going through to the final 9 lap heat on both days! Fun, fast action packed racing guaranteed for both spectators and racers alike. The season has seen some exciting racing with team Microlink / Ahmad Tea looking hot favourites to win the 2016 Microlink ThunderCat Championship., but who knows…anything can happen in the exciting motorsport.

As well as being an idyllic setting, Watergate Bay offers lots to see and do for visitors. The area has some amazing hotels and cafes to suit all tastes. The area is dog friendly and there is both ample spaces for camping as well as parking.

The event is free to watch. The infamous Anton Roberts will commentate and there will be music on the beach. Spectators can get right up close to the races and chat with them. The event is also a must for amateur/professional photographers who are keen to get some great action shots of the riders in such a dramatic background…..there is often the possibility of seeing the ThunderCat boats launching themselves 20 -30 foot in the air and still carry on racing.
