Tideswell Male Voice Choir hosted a charity dinner and auction at Shrigley Hall

An apartment for two for a week in the old town of Albufeira, a trip to Cologne to enjoy a concert by André Rieu, and a day with Staffordshire Police dog training unit were just some of the desirable items donated by friends and patrons of Tideswell Male Voice Choir at a charity dinner and auction in the elegant ambience of Shrigley Hall. The choir has a formidable reputation for delivering hugely popular and often spectacular concerts and shows, such as its recent series of Les Miserables concert performances at Gawsworth Hall, Lytham, Morecambe and Buxton Opera House. During the past eight years it has raised thousands of pounds for local charities. This memorable evening was organised by Bob Fearn and Christine Pedder. After a sumptuous repast, comedian Mick Miller entertained the guests before Philip Cope of Donald Cope & Company, Cheadle, Staffs, conducted the auction, which raised £4,500 to be shared between Ashgate, East Cheshire and Bluebell Wood Children’s hospices. Following a hugely successful event, the choir president thanked everyone for their support and gave a final vote of thanks to Bob and Chris.
