The narrative of Cinderella has proven itself as timeless as it is versatile, popularly adapted to film and stage for decades. All of the familiar ingredients of this traditional folk story will be making an appearance in Vienna Festival Ballet’s dance adaptation: a downtrodden young girl, a glass slipper, two comical step sisters and, of course, a handsome prince.

Accompanied by a specially commissioned score created for Vienna Festival Ballet by Chris Nicholls, the dancers hope to transport the audience into the story with a blend of agile technique and creative choreography, combined with the company’s faithful-to-tradition storytelling.

The Vienna Festival Ballet was founded in 1980 by Austrian Dancer Peter Mallek, who was born in Vienna and began his career at the age of 14 when he joined the Vienna State Opera. With international dancers from all corners of the globe, the company tours 8 months a year, presenting approximately 200 performances mainly in the UK.

Tickets to their dance adaption of Cinderella cost £20 with concessions available, and can be purchased from The Roses Theatre Box Office on 01684 295074 or online at www.rosestheatre.org
