Upcoming shows at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury

A Groovy Kind Of Gig

The accomplished tribute band ‘And Finally...Phil Collins’ will come to The Roses Theatre on Saturday 28 June, at 7.30pm, for two hours of musical entertainment.

After five years performing over fifty different Phil Collins songs and being recognised as the Official No.1 Tribute Show To Phil Collins at the National Tribute Awards in 2013, the band presents the definitive celebration of the successful pop and contemporary singer. The peformance, The Best Of Phil Collins Tour, includes classic hits such as ‘Another Day In Paradise’, ‘Can’t Stop Loving You’, and ‘Wish It Would Rain Down’, as well as an acoustic rendition of ‘Both Sides Of The Story’ performed by a world class ten piece line-up of musicians.

Best known both as drummer and vocalist for rock group, Genesis, and as a solo artist, Phil Collins has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. Throughout his career he has won 7 Grammy Awards, 6 Brit Awards, 3 American Music Awards, an Academy Award, 2 Golden Globes, and a Disney Legend Award. He was also inducted into the songwriter’s Hall Of Fame and into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of Genesis, and Rolling Stone magazine voted him 22nd in the 100 Greatest Drummers Of All Time list.

Recreating the sound of Collins’ distinguished career is front man and vocalist, Pete Bultitude. In 1999, after being encouraged to apply by many people, Pete appeared on ITV’s ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ as Phil Collins and made it through to the final where he received over 202,000 votes. He has since appeared on stage at many notable venues including Birmingham’s NEC, the London Palladium, and The Grosvenor House Hotel Ballroom in London.

Tickets cost £17.50 with concessions available.

We Salute You

In celebration of Armed Forces Day, the Tewkesbury branch of The Royal British legion presents We Salute You at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury on Sunday June 29, at 7.30pm.

Recapture the spirit and camaraderie of wartime Britain, when music and laughter kept the country smiling in her darkest days. There will be a melodic medley from local, handpicked entertainers, featuring contemporary music from the Innsworth Military Wives Choir, an assortment of WW1 tunes by The Manor Players, and a rendition of WW2 favourites by Tewkesbury Chamber Choir.

The grand finale of the evening will be lead by keyboard player, Paul Keyes, when audience participation is encouraged with patriotic flag waving in the aisles. The flags can be purchased on the night for a nominal charge, with the proceeds aiding The British Royal Legion Poppy Appeal. As a registered charity, The Roses will also benefit from 10% of ticket sales.

This special charity event is intended not only to raise awareness of the contribution made to this country by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, but also to give local residents an opportunity to support those who make up the Armed Forces community, from troops who are currently serving to their families, and from veterans to cadets.

Tickets cost £15.
