Cornwall’s favourite cider and music festival will be returning to the grounds of Healey’s Cyder Farm on Friday 14 - 16 September

The sixth edition of Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival is hotting-up to be the best yet with festival headliners The Fratellis, Hayseed Dixie and The Wurzels. Music aside, here’s our round-up of the most exciting things happening at this year’s event.

1. Scrumpy fuelled games

Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival will host a variety of competitions that the whole family can enjoy with welly wanging and barrel pushing set to fill the festival agenda. Pick a team wisely and let the games begin!

2. BBC Introducing in Cornwall Fireside Acoustic Sessions

Take a pew around the crackling campfire and join local musicians for the BBC Introducing in Cornwall Fireside Acoustic Sessions. Adding a mellow twist to this year’s event, a selection of the region’s rising stars will jam beneath the moonlight for a series of intimate music performances.

3. Silent Disco

Undergoing a festival makeover, the silent disco is set to be the most magical to date. Accessed through a hobbit’s entrance via a secret tunnel, party goers can dance among the trees and sing until the apples fall from the branches at this year’s Silent Disco in the Orchard.

4. Grandma’s Sofa Derby

The festival’s very own squad of grandmas are set to return for the third year armed with Werther’s Originals and Sherbet Lemons. Renowned for their cheeky antics and eccentric style, these race-ready ladies will be battling it out on motorised sofa’s in an attempt to top the podium at Grandma’s Sofa Derby. Taking place on Sunday 16th September, festival guests can place bets on which granny will win. Away from the comfort of the cushions, Little Orchard’s pensioners are likely to be found sipping gin and dancing to funk at Grandma’s Funky Wardrobe.

5. Secret Cider Walks by Wild Wine Club

Delicious local produce will be paired with apple-based tipples in a hidden opening within the orchard.

6. The Zen Den

Yoga classes and meditation sessions are available to help relax and revive tired minds.

7. Pig Racing

Back by popular demand, the festival’s four legged friends will take to the pen in a head-to-head trotter race. Festival guests can place bets on which pig will be the fastest.

8. Healey’s courtyard

Families can head down to the Healey’s courtyard where children can meet the resident ponies, chickens, rabbits, ferrets, Pygmy goats and of course the Cornish black pigs. Alongside this, festival guests can also make the most of the complimentary tractor rides which showcase the beautiful grounds and blossoming orchards. Sign the little ones up to a variety of exciting outdoor courses across the weekend including survival skills, wildlife and nature awareness, foraging and bush craft.

With an abundance of delicious ciders on the menu, the biggest music line-up to date, and the resident grannies equipped with motorised sofas, Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival is one event in the Cornish calendar that should not be missed.

Weekend Camping Tickets are currently on sale priced at £65 (plus booking fee). Little Orchard Cider & Music Festival operates a tiered ticket system with prices changing over time. An allocation of tickets is reserved for each tier, this will close when the allocation of tickets is sold out. Entry is free for under 14’s however advance tickets incur a booking fee. Glamping options are also available including the opportunity to stay in a real-life hobbit hut.
