Q: How does an online auction work?

A: Each auction is live streamed via our website. People can join in from the comfort of their home and bid online or over the phone. If you can’t take part, we can bid on your behalf. Contact us beforehand to let us know your budget and what items you’re interested in.

Because of social distancing, we can’t hold auctions in person. However, online auctions attract a wider audience and can help you earn more for your items.

In our first online auction over 5,000 bidders, from all over the globe, joined the auction. We sold 92 per cent of the items entered.

Q: What items can I sell and what are they worth?

A: Old coin collections, jewellery and watches, militaria, antique furniture and clocks could all be saleable items. Asian art, fine art and musical instruments are also popular items. We also sell boutique handbags, accessories, clothes and shoes. Book a valuation with one of our specialists to find out how much your item is worth.

We also offer probate valuations. We’ll assess your household collection and give you a price. We can appraise your items over video call, or you can arrange a home visit. We can inspect items in the garden to maintain a safe distance.

Q: Will I need to clean or prepare my items?

A: The most your items need is a light dusting. I’d recommend speaking to an expert first before doing any more work. You can unintentionally ruin the item by cleaning or treating it and could reduce its value.

Q: Why should I sell with Adam Partridge Auctioneers?

A: We can help you get the best value for your items. Our specialist can recommend which collections to feature them in to help you get the best price.

Selling your antiques can be an excellent way to boost your income and gather some added spending money. Once your item has sold, we’ll send you an invoice and transfer the money into your account or send you a cheque.

We’re one of the UK’s best-known antiques and Fine Art auction houses. We’ve appeared on Flog It, Bargain Hunt, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Cash in the Attic. We are the largest auction house in the region, with another saleroom in Liverpool and valuation offices in Hale, Lancashire and Torquay.

Our next online auction collection is Asian and Tribal art with Musical Instruments, Clocks and Barometers. Look out for our first property auction in September.
