Wigan Rotary Club celebrated its 92nd charter night at Haigh Hall, Wigan.

Effectively the club’s birthday and the most prestigious event in their calendar, the evening celebrates the granting of the original charter to the club.

The mayor of Wigan, Cllr. Sue Loudon, Rotary district governor, Nigel Danby, president of Wigan Soroptimists, Sue Doyle, and guest speaker, chief executive of Wigan Athletic, Jonathan Jackson, attended the event alongside 120 guests. The club also presented two members, Jim Rawson and Mervyn Reeves, with Paul Harris Fellowships for their distinguished service to Rotary and to the Wigan Club. Paul Harris was the founder of Rotary and this is the organisation’s highest honour.
