It was a black tie affair for members and guests at the prestigious Winckley Club’s 175th anniversary dinner.
Guests arrived at the Newdrop Inn in Preston to toast and celebrate the magnificent anniversary. The evening was hosted by current chairman Barbara Dickson who is also an Honorary Member, having remained a member of the club for 50 years. The club also commissioned a souvenir booklet which was made available to members and takes the reader through the establishment of The Winckley Club in 1844, through its unbroken history to the present day.
The club is now, essentially, a 130-strong mixed organisation that meets throughout the year. After a delicious dinner, guests heard a toast from former Winckley Club member and local historian Andrew Mather.
