A stunning black tie ball with a Lewis Carroll theme was staged at Formby Hall Golf Club to raise awareness and money for Zoe’s Place baby hospice in Liverpool. The hospice provides palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five.
Helen Bell, who organised the event, said it had been a huge success and would at least provide the deposit for a much-needed mini bus. Sean Gibney, owner of Josephs Jewellers in Ormksirk, helped to raise funds by donating a ring worth over £3,000. Guests bought balloons for £20 and had to burst them at the end of the night to see which contained the winning ticket.
