Scenes of the county from our readers: this month we have submissions from Cosmo Coughlin and Ron Jeffries
Cosmo Coughlin
I’m a keen amateur photographer from north-east Essex, drawing my inspiration from nature and the landscape. I’ve had a strong interest in photography for a number of years, but living in California for a year reinforced my passion for landscapes. I tend to shoot mostly in black and white, so I can concentrate on the composition and textures of my images. Without the distraction that colour can bring to an image, I try to emphasise the natural beauty within the scene. You can view a greater collection of my work at www.flickr.com/photos/cosmocoughlin/
Ron Jeffries
I celebrate my 83rd birthday this year, having been a member of St Peter’s Aldborough Hatch from the age of 11, when I joined the church choir. These days I enjoy using photography to produce Christmas cards and notelets for sale at church events. In addition to the bulb planting, a section of the churchyard is being developed as a community garden with seating, an orchard and scented shrubs.
