Otters, pine martens, dormice and bats are just some of the creatures that call the UK’s precious woods their home, but it’s incredibly rare to spot one. This year, the Woodland Trust has caught them all – and more – on camera, including a Kingfisher at Elmstead Market near Colchester.

The film has been made as a thank you to everyone who has supported the Trust this year, be that by making a donation, becoming a member, or by supporting one or more of the charity’s campaigns to protect the UK’s precious and irreplaceable ancient woodland, restore damaged woodland or plant new woods and trees to create a landscape that’s resilient for people and wildlife in the future.

So from the comfort of your armchair, watch and marvel – and if you’re feeling inspired and want to know more, visit the Woodland Trust website.
