Start snapping for our annual photography competition in association with Wilkinson Cameras
Great photography doesn’t always need expensive kit and careful planning – sometimes you just need to be in the right place at the right time.
When Tony Marsh from Warrington arrived at Lyme Park it had been raining and the grey skies meant there was no reflection on the water but when he passed again a little later the skies had cleared and he was able to get the shot that won our 2018 readers’ photography competition.
The examples on these pages are just some of the wonderful images submitted by Cheshire Life readers in recent weeks which have been entered into this year’s hunt for the county’s best amateur photographer.
This year’s first prize is one of the new generation of mirrorless system cameras, a Canon EOS M50 camera with a 15-45mm lens, worth £649 provided by competition sponsors Wilkinson Cameras. Our second prize winner will receive a £150 Wilkinson Cameras gift voucher and the third prize is a £75 Wilkinson Cameras gift voucher.
All you have to do to enter is upload your best shots of Cheshire and North Wales to our website, cheshirelife.co.uk.
You have until Friday September 27th 2019, to submit your entries. After that date our panel of judges, which will include Cheshire Life editor Louise Taylor and David Parkinson from Wilkinson Cameras, will begin the difficult task of choosing a top three.
There are just two rules; the competition is not open to professional photographers and while the pictures can contain any subject matter – landscapes, wildlife, views or people – they must be taken in Cheshire or North Wales.
