Our favourite week of the year has begun… It’s Afternoon Tea Week! And to top it all off (excuse the pun), Rodda’s have just settled a long-standing debate for us…

When it comes to cream tea, we often debate what goes first on top of our scones; the cream or the jam? A recent survey conducted by Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream established that 61% of cream tea lovers put the jam on first and then the cream on top. We’re glad to hear that the Cornish have been getting it the right way round!

68% of people favour clotted cream over whipped cream (18%) with only 8% opting for double cream.

How do you eat yours?

Whilst we’re on the topic, Rodda’s survey also concluded that the cream tea is one of Britain’s favourite food traditions (for 39% of us infact), beaten only by fish and chips (67%), the Full English breakfast (54%) and strawberries and cream (41%). Which leaves us asking – what about the Sunday lunch?
