The Painswick is a stunning honey-coloured building on the outside, with a beautifully decorated interior on the inside. With sixteen bedrooms to choose from, each one has been individually designed and is truly unique (so you’ll just have to visit them all). Downstairs, you can while away the afternoon with a cream tea on the terrace or visit one of the two treatment rooms in the spa for a pamper session. In the evening, visit the restaurant for a tasty bite to eat or enjoy a tipple at the bar.

Court House Manor

Court House Manor is a luxurious bed and breakfast with 14 beautifully decorated rooms to choose from and each one is named after a Shakespearean play. During your stay you’ll find several cosy commune areas to relax in, pretty landscaped gardens and a light and airy restaurant to enjoy a delicious breakfast or a tasty supper. Court House is a magical place to stay on a visit to Painswick.

The Falcon Inn

If you’re looking for comfort, style and a great base to explore the Cotswolds, The Falcon is just the place. It is small in size with only eleven bedrooms to choose from, so you can rest assured you’ll be well looked after. Each bedroom has been sympathetically decorated and is in keeping with the traditional Cotswoldian style of the building but with all the home comforts (White Company toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and free wi-fi).

Take a step back in Cotswold history with a trip to the traditional bistro at the Cardynham House Hotel. On the menu is a selection of tasty dishes that include plenty of locally sourced ingredients. The cosy interior and friendly service are a charming addition to the experience and the bistro feels homely as soon as you walk through the door.

The Patchwork Mouse Art Café

The tinkling bell above the front door announces your arrival at The Patchwork Mouse Café and a delectable journey starts from there. Take a seat in a comfortable armchair with a good read, and savour a delicious cupcake or a slice of something nice. There is a selection of teas on offer but if you’re more of a coffee enthusiast, there are lattes, americanos and cappuccinos on the menu too. Afterwards, take a walk around the café’s gallery where the exhibitions are forever changing.

The Falcon Inn

Yet another mention for The Falcon Inn as the dining experience is just as good as the hotel. From a hearty cooked breakfast, to light lunches and supper by candlelight, they cover every meal time of the day with some of Painswick’s most tasty cuisine. If it’s a quick pint you’re after, the bar has friendly clientele and it stocks a fantastic selection of real ales.

The only complete Rococo garden in England is in the grounds of Painswick House. These pleasure gardens were designed in the 1740s for Benjamin Hyett and his guests to indulge in lavish garden parties. Nowadays, they are a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Read more about the gardens here.

Art Couture Gallery and Festival

This gallery displays pieces created for the summer Art Couture Festival which showcases “wearable art” in the forms of costumes, headdresses and much more. You won’t want to miss this visual feast.
