A fantastic 50,000 was raised for the Addington Fund farming charity from a race day at Bangor-on-Dee racecourse.

Addington’s marketing manager Lucy Mellor said: ‘We are very privileged to be selected by Anne, Duchess of Westminster’s charity to benefit from the proceeds of this event. Several landowners put their names to a ‘Landowners Race’, and many took tables and brought farming friends.’

The Duchess would have supported the aims of the Addington Fund. At various times she had farming interests in Cheshire, Scotland and Ireland. She was always concerned for the well-being of those who worked in the countryside.
