Family and friends of a young man who died tragically 18 months ago staged a fabulous black tie ball in his memory.
The event at Hilltop Country House, Prestbury, honoured Geoffrey Paul Husdan, pictured right, who grew up in Bramhall. It raised over �9,000 for Mind, the mental health charity.Geoffrey died aged 33 in July 2011 on a holiday in Marbella when he was hit by a taxi as he crossed the road.
His sister Natalie said: ‘We chose to raise money for Mind after Geoff died as he was a very kind and thoughtful person. He was the type of person colleagues at work felt they could go to if they needed advice or just someone to talk to.
‘He was also a lot of fun, always the centre of a party and would have approved highly of any do involving lots of food and drink!
‘Geoff was a manager at Oliver James Associates in Manchester, a recruitment company for top financial services jobs. He had an apartment in West Didsbury and a girlfriend who had just moved in with him. He had a huge group of friends from Manchester Grammar School and Sheffield University, a large family and he was very highly thought of by his colleagues.’Many Cheshire businesses donated raffle prizes to the event. Andrew Dollamore of Click Submit Ltd in Alderley Edge provided all the wine on the tables. Tamaryn’s Treasures, also based in Alderley Edge, created the decor for the ball.
