Local producers, restaurateurs and dignitaries gathered at The Wheatsheaf Inn in Raby for the launch of Wirral's Year of Food. Guests dined on a three course meal of locally sourced game and steak as well as tucking into a large slice of carrot cake and a hot toddy prepared by award-winning chef, Emma Wombwell.

The evening, which was hosted by television presenter Paul Crone, also included interviews with key figures who will make up the year's events. It was the perfect opportunity to showcase the activities that will take place on the Wirral during this celebratory year.
