On the weekend of 28 and 29 April 2018, Lancing College Chapel provided the place of worship for the live broadcast of BBC Radio 4 Sunday Worship programme, and was also the venue for BBC Radio 3 Choral Evensong, broadcast on 9 and 13 May

Members of the public, parents, former pupils and Friends of Lancing Chapel attended these acts of worship in which they were also able to support and be supported by Lancing College Choir.

The live broadcast of Sunday Worship, routinely listened to by 1.7m people, was led by celebrant Fr Richard Harrison, Chaplain of Lancing College. The preacher was the Right Revd. Dr John Inge, Bishop of Worcester, one time Chemistry teacher at Lancing College and now President of the Woodard Corporation. The Organist was Edward Picton-Turbervill.

The Choir of Lancing College Chapel sang a vibrant setting of the Mass by the College’s Director of Chapel Music Neil Cox. The service also included a solo performance by pupil Rafi Bellamy Plaice, BBC Radio 2 Young Chorister of the Year 2017, and a piece composed by former pupil Jack Redman, Organ Scholar at Lancing College until 2016. The New Testament reading was read by a Year 10 pupil from our nearest Woodard School neighbour, the Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing.

Both of these services are now available on BBC iPlayer here and here.
